কৃত্রিম বুদ্ধিমত্তা কী: ১৯৫৬ সালে জন ম্যাকার্থি সর্বপ্রথম 'আর্টিফিশিয়াল ইন্টেলিজেন্স' শব্দটি ব্যবহার করেন। এটি মূলত মেশিন লার্নিং, ডিপ লার্নিং এবং নিউরাল নেটওয়ার্কের সমন্বয়ে গঠিত এমন এক প্রযুক্তি, যা পূর্ব অভিজ্ঞতা ও ডেটা বিশ্লেষণ করে স্বয়ংক্রিয়ভাবে সিদ্ধান্ত গ্রহণ করতে পারে।

মানবসভ্যতায় কৃত্রিম বুদ্ধিমত্তার অবদান:
১. চিকিৎসাক্ষেত্রে: রোগ নির্ণয়, জটিল অস্ত্রোপচার (রোবোটিক সার্জারি), এবং নতুন ওষুধ আবিষ্কারে এআই বিপ্লব ঘটিয়েছে।

সম্ভাব্য ঝুঁকি ও চ্যালেঞ্জ: মুদ্রার অপর পিঠের মতো এর কিছু নেতিবাচক দিকও রয়েছে। স্বয়ংক্রিয়করণের ফলে কর্মসংস্থান হারানোর শঙ্কা, ডিপফেক প্রযুক্তির মাধ্যমে গুজব ছড়ানো, সাইবার নিরাপত্তা ঝুঁকি এবং ব্যক্তিগত তথ্যের গোপনীয়তা লঙ্ঘন বর্তমানে বড় উদ্বেগের বিষয়।
বাংলাদেশে কৃত্রিম বুদ্ধিমত্তা: স্মার্ট বাংলাদেশ বিনির্মাণে কৃত্রিম বুদ্ধিমত্তার ব্যবহার অপরিহার্য। ইতোমধ্যে দেশের ব্যাংকিং, ই-কমার্স, এবং সরকারি সেবাখাতে চ্যাটবট ও অটোমেশনের ব্যবহার শুরু হয়েছে।

উপসংহার: কৃত্রিম বুদ্ধিমত্তা মানবসভ্যতার প্রতিদ্বন্দ্বী নয়, বরং সহযোগী। সঠিক নীতিমালা ও নৈতিক নিয়ন্ত্রণের মাধ্যমে এর অপব্যবহার রোধ করা গেলে কৃত্রিম বুদ্ধিমত্তা পৃথিবীকে আরও সুন্দর, নিরাপদ ও গতিশীল করে তুলবে।

যুদ্ধ ও মারণাস্ত্র মানবসভ্যতাকে ধ্বংস করে এবং অগণিত মানুষের জীবনে বয়ে আনে পঙ্গুত্ব ও করুণ আর্তনাদ। তাই ধ্বংসাত্মক মারণাস্ত্রের পরিবর্তে পৃথিবীতে আজ ভালোবাসা, শান্তি ও অহিংসার অস্ত্র প্রয়োজন, যা প্রসারিত হলে বিশ্বজুড়ে কোনো ধ্বংসযজ্ঞ ঘটবে না এবং মানবসভ্যতা নিরাপদ থাকবে।

Introduction: Brain drain refers to the (large-scale) emigration of highly educated, skilled, and talented professionals from developing nations to more developed countries. In an increasingly globalized world, this phenomenon has become a major concern for emerging economies.

Causes (Why Talented People Leave): Several push and pull factors drive brain drain. Higher standards of living, lucrative salaries, advanced research facilities, career growth based on merit, political stability, and social security in developed nations attract brilliant minds. Conversely, lack of job satisfaction, limited research funding, nepotism, and socio-economic instability push them away from their homeland.

Consequences (What a Country Loses): When a country loses its best minds, it suffers a severe shortage of human capital. The state invests heavily in subsidizing public education to produce doctors, engineers, and scientists, only for foreign economies to reap the benefits. This slows down domestic innovation, weakens leadership in critical institutions, and widens the development gap.

Bangladesh Perspective: In Bangladesh, brain drain prominently affects the healthcare, information technology (IT), engineering, and higher education sectors. Every year, thousands of top graduates from premier universities leave for North America, Europe, and Australia, creating a vacuum in advanced medical treatment and technological research within the country.

Is It Always Harmful?: Brain drain is not entirely detrimental. Expatriate professionals send substantial foreign remittances, foster global networks, and often transfer knowledge and technology back home—a concept known as 'Brain Circulation'.

Solutions: To curb brain drain, the government and private sector must ensure merit-based recruitment, competitive compensation, increased allocation for research and development (R&D), and a secure, conducive working environment.

Conclusion: Rather than viewing brain drain solely as a loss, Bangladesh must reform its institutional frameworks to retain talent and engage its global diaspora, effectively turning brain drain into 'brain gain' and opportunity.

Through the columns of your esteemed daily, I would like to draw the attention of the concerned authorities and the general public to the alarming rise of food adulteration in our country.

Food adulteration has reached an epidemic proportion. From daily essentials like fish, meat, milk, vegetables, and fruits to baby food and spices, almost every item is being contaminated with toxic chemicals such as formalin, carbide, textile dyes, and heavy metals. Consuming these poisoned foods is leading to a surge in fatal diseases, including kidney failure, liver cirrhosis, and cancer.

To combat this menace effectively, the following measures must be taken immediately:
1. Strict enforcement of the Pure Food Ordinance and exemplary punishment for dishonest traders.
2. Regular and unannounced mobile court drives at kitchen markets, warehouses, and food processing factories.
3. Strengthening the capacity of BSTI and the Bangladesh Food Safety Authority (BFSA) with modern testing laboratories.
4. Raising mass awareness among consumers and farmers about the fatal consequences of chemical adulteration.

Ensuring safe food is a fundamental right of every citizen. We urge the government to adopt a zero-tolerance policy against food adulterators to safeguard public health.
